Tina Fey goes from “Mean” to “Fancy”
Tina Fey is reportedly in talks to produce a live-action film adaptation of the popular book series, Fancy Nancy. Insiders close to the project tell Entertainment Weekly that the star, writer and producer of 30 Rock would remain behind the scenes.
Fancy Nancy will be produced by the Night at the Museum director, Shawn Levy, who also directed Fey in the movie Date Night.
The book series follows Fancy Nancy, a little girl with a larger than life personality, who wears boas, tutus, fuzzy slippers and uses big fancy words. The series has over 30 books which would leave enough room to expand the franchise.
Speaking of Shawn Levy…
He is set to produce another movie starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. The Wedding Crashers duo will co-star once again in Interns, a script that Vaughn penned himself. According to Vulture, the film will be about two 40-somethings that get laid off from their job and both become interns at a Google-like dotcom and start competing with fresh-out-of-college 22 year olds.
Shawn Levy will have double duties as he is set to produce and direct the comedy.
Double-Feature for Natalie Portman
Someone else that has scored double is Natalie Portman. After taking some time off to enjoy motherhood, the Oscar winner is back in action in both projects from Terrence Malick.
Natalie Portman will also share screen time with Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett, who are also confirmed in both of Malick’s films, titled Knight of the Cups and Lawless. Confirmed for Lawless are Ryan Gosling and Rooney Mara.
Rango is Top Winner at VES Awards

Other winners were Hugo, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Transformers: Dark of the Moon, each winning 2 awards.
On the television side, HBO dramas Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones each received two trophies.
The Jetsons get “Black List” writers
If the stone-aged Flinstones had a live-action feature, why haven’t the futuristic Jetsons? If you’ve asked yourself that (maybe not) then you’ll be happy to know that the Jetsons have scored writers. Van Robichaux and Evan Susser, are the duo that will be penning the project, who recently topped the Black List with Chewie, a satire of Star Wars.
The Karate Kid is ready to kick again
Another project that has scored a writer is The Karate Kid sequel. Zak Penn, the screenwriter of The Incredible Hulk and X-Men: The Last Stand, will be continuing with this saga that stars Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan.
