Katie Cassidy lands Female Lead in “Arrow” Pilot
Melrose Place and Gossip Girl alumna Katie Cassidy has landed the female lead in the pilot for the CW’s Arrow. Deadline reports that Cassidy will play Laurel, “a young legal clinic attorney who shares a romantic past with Oliver,” the secret identity of Green Arrow. The super-hero show based on the DC Comics character fights crime using archery and martial arts.

We are excited about Katie’s new role but we hope she doesn’t forget her soapy past and still slaps and throws a martini at someone here and there.

Peter Berg Talks About Friday Night Lights
One of the most critically-acclaimed television shows is Friday Night Lights, and ever since production shut the “lights” off, there have been talks about a movie. As you know, the television show was spun off from the movie that Billy Bob Thornton starred in, which is based off H.G. Bissinger’s book.

Peter Berg recently talked to Vulture and revealed that a possible script had just been completed and the story would parallel to what happened to Mike Leach, “a coach at Texas Tech who was unjustly fired and unjustly accused of mistreating a player with a concussion, which was proven to not have been the case.”

Berg described the plot as a “great redemption story,” but what does Coach need to redeem himself from? He is the most just, fair and compassionate character on television.

Adele Will Not Take a Five Year Break
News of Adele taking a five year break anguished fans yesterday, especially after her sweeping comeback at the Grammy’s this past weekend. The news came from an interview in Vogue magazine where she said, “I am f*cking off for four or five years.”

Now the singer wrote on her personal blog, “I’ve a few days off now, and then it’s the Brit Awards here at home and then I’m straight into the studio. BOYYAHH! 5 years? More like 5 days!”

Maybe Adele changed her mind after her triumphant return on Sunday and we are glad she did. Who else would help us interpret our pain?
