The Mix-Up: Lone Ranger First Look, Kelly Clarkson will form “Duets,” and more…

The Lone Ranger

“Lone Ranger” First Look
For those of you awaiting the big screen adaptation of The Lone Ranger, producer Jerry Bruckheimer just gave us a first look. This morning the producer tweeted a picture with the caption, “Tonto and The Lone Ranger Ride Again!” In the picture we can see Johnny Depp as “Tonto” and Armie Hammer as the masked man. The movie is set to be released May 21, 2013.

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson on ABC “Duets”
ABC has just green-lit a new reality musical competition series starring Kelly Clarkson for this summer. After a much talked-about stint as one of the mentors of The Voice, Clarkson returns to the reality summer realm that made her famous a couple years ago when she won the first season of American Idol. Kelly will be competing against Jennifer Nettles, Robin Thicke and Lionel Richie. The dynamic of the show is to travel across America to look for the best undiscovered talent who will then team up with each celebrity and compete for a recording contract. What an original idea! Guess ABC forgot that Fox made this show under the name Celebrity Duets.

Terra Nova

Terra Nova might get another shot
If you were one of the few people watching the Land of the Lost, er, Terra Nova and you were upset and didn’t know what to do with your life after you heard it was canceled, then you might be happy it might come back. Deadline reports that there are talks going on with Netflix to pick up the series to produce a second season of the Steven Spielberg-produced show. Not a bad idea since studies show that it was one of the shows that would gain viewers once DVR viewers were factored in. However, the cost of each episode would most likely weigh in when making an ultimate decision.

Stop Kony

“Stop Kony” goes viral
A documentary about a Ugandan warlord has gone viral on various social networking sites. The nonprofit organization, Invisible Children, produced the film to bring attention to Joseph Kony, leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army. The LRA is known for abducting, raping and maiming its victims having an ultimate goal of overthrowing the Ugandan government. The video has had over 36 million views on YouTube at the time of this posting and Oprah is one of the supporters tweeting: “Thanks tweeps for sending me info about ending #LRAviolence. I am aware. Have supported with $’s and voice and will not stop. #KONY2012.”

Take a look at the film following an Ugandan child soldier calling for action against Kony…
