Film Festival Movies To Watch For in Dallas, Tribeca and SXSW

It is a film lover’s paradise with all the Film Festivals going on right now. The Berlin Film Festival was last month, SXSW going on right now, the Tribeca Film Festival coming up, all the way up to the Cannes Film Festival in May.

We would like to present to you some of the films being featured in the upcoming weeks.

Dallas Film FestivalCinema Six

Cinema Six is premiering at the Dallas Film Festival. The comedy was shot in Austin, Texas and is written and directed by Mark Potts and Cole Selix. The film stars John Merriman, Mark Potts and Brand Rackley.

Working at a movie theater is fun, and that’s why Mason, Dennis, and Gabe have done it for years. But, years of neglecting the world outside the theater are finally catching up to them. Now, they have to make a decision; start on the long, hard path to maturity or stay at the theater, where they can avoid customers, screw with customers, and eat as much popcorn as they desire.

Tribeca Film FestivalHysteria
Hysteria is set in the 19th Century in London and stars Hugh Dancy and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The film follows the the life of a young doctor and an accident that led to him inventing the electro-mechanical vibrator. The indie film is being directed by Tanya Wexler and written by Jonah Lisa Dyer and Stephen Dyer.

The film will be “Spotlighted” at the Tribeca Film Festival April 18-29 in lower Manhattan.

South by SouthwestBay Of All Saints
Bay of All Saints by Annie Eastman follows a group of impoverished Brazilian residents in the well-known “Baia De Todos Os Santos” in the state of “Bahia” in Brazil. The families live in “palafitas,” shacks built on stilts over the ocean bay, which causes the government to reclaim this area for ecological restoration. These families are at risk of losing their homes but will have to rise to fight for their future.

This documentary just won an audience award at the SXSW Film Festival. Take a look at the trailer…
