Fox Alters Its “Neighborhood Watch” Marketing Campaign After Trayvon Martin Shooting…
After the shooting of Trayvon Martin by a neighborhood watch captain still haunts the nation, Fox has taken down its first teaser poster and trailer for its summer comedy Neighborhood Watch –– starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade.
The poster showed an alien on a neighborhood watch sign that was riddled with bullet holes.
The teaser showed all four male stars riding in an SUV and at one point, Hill’s character pretends to shoot a bunch of teenagers with his hands (aka a fake gun).
“We are very sensitive to the Trayvon Martin case, but our film is a broad alien-invasion comedy and bears absolutely no relation to the tragic events in Florida,” said a Fox spokesperson. “The movie, which is not scheduled for release for several months, was made and these initial marketing materials were released before this incident ever came to light. The teaser materials were part of an early phase of our marketing and were never planned for long-term use. Above all else, our thoughts go out to the families touched by this terrible event.”
Neighborhood Watch is still on target to hit theaters July 27.
Chloe Moretz In Talks For Carrie Remake…
Carrie’s coming back and Chloe Moretz is super excited to be offered the role. We’ve all seen Stephen King’s creepy classic that was made back in ‘76 and now it’s time to witness the remake.
Set to direct is Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry) so hopefully it will live up to the original. But can Moretz live up to Sissy Spacek? She’s no stranger to freaky roles, starring in The Amityville Horror remake and playing a vampire in Let Me In –– the American version of Swedish film Let the Right One In.
James Franco Sneak Peek in Spring Breakers…
Harmony Korine’s new crazy film is Spring Breakers, starring James Franco, Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens. It’s a slightly weird, slightly fun story of four young girls on spring break who decide to rob a fast food joint, end up in jail and guess who bails them out?
Corn-rowed, scruffy, tattooed Mr. James Franco. Bet he had a blast filming. Check out the pictures below. I want more!
