Quddus

Quddus To Host Duets
Former TRL host Quddus is set to host ABC’s musical competition reality show, Duets. Trying to follow the formula with The Voice, as it has Carson Daly from TRL as well, Duets will feature Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Nettles, Lionel Richie and Robin Thicke traveling across America looking for singers to be their duet partners. Quddus told Deadline, “This show is going to take the singing competition genre to the next level and I’m absolutely honored to be a part of it.” Duets will premiere this summer on ABC.

Luck

Luck Can’t Catch a Break
Recently-cancelled HBO series, Luck, wanted to submit it for Emmy consideration under the “mini-series” category since its whole run would only be nine episodes long. However, since it was originally planned to be an ongoing series and it wasn’t self-contained, the Emmy organizers have rejected the idea and HBO will have to submit the series under the regular drama category. The reason it works for American Horror Story is that every season will be self-contained, and the storylines introduced at the beginning of the season were all closed out by the finale, qualifying it for the mini-series category.
