Today in the Wonderful World of Cinema…

Movie Sneak Peek…

Ben Affleck’s in front of and behind the camera again in his newest film Argo. Set to be released in September of this year, the film has now been pushed back to mid-October ––– just in time for award season.

This will be Ben’s first film since The Town and we have high expectations about the political drama. Based on an article that was published in Wired magazine, the story follows how the U.S. and Canadian governments teamed together to try and rescue six diplomats during the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis. Their plan was clever — try and convince the Iranian government they were in town only to scout for a film.

Wonder how it ends… Don’t want to research and spoil it.

American Animal Trailer = WATCH IT…

Maybe it’s just a really really good trailer, but American Animal is high up there on my list of indie films to see this year. It premiered at SXSW last year to weirded out (in a good way) reviews.

Written and directed by newcomer Matt D’Elia, the dramedy’s star is… Matt D’Elia. He plays Jimmy, a borderline crazy but extremely content young man. Watch the trailer to see for yourself. It looks hilarious mixed with elements of American Psycho. Interesting.

Redbox Weekend…

Want to save some cash this weekend? Hit up a Redbox at one of your local grocery stores. I tried one for the first time last week and it was much easier than any trip to Blockbuster.

Here’s what’s featured this week: George Clooney in The Descendants, Meryl Streep’s Oscar win for Iron Lady, Hugo, The Muppet Movie, My Week with Marilyn, A Dangerous Method, War Horse and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Pretty amazing; You can rent them all for only $1 a night. That’s my kind of happy hour.

Cheers to a happy Tuesday FilmFunders!
